Ko Samui, Thailand

IMG_2365-sm

Until the 1970’s the island of Ko Samui was known as the biggest coconut  plantation in the world. Since then it has become a major resort and tourist stop because of its many beaches.

When we arrived in Ko Samui in the morning, the weather was clear and very hot, then it got hotter. We walked around the streets shopping for more stuff to take home and check out the locals.

Traffic was light but still a lot of scooter and motorbikes.

Street food, some looked good and some was just for the local taste. Including water bugs, chicken heads and pig heads.

Well, I must say their food is VERY colorful. So much for hygiene though!! I would have a hard time eating anything but the vegetables.

Ask Mary Ann if she remembers when we had the international banquet in H.School and I brought chocolate covered grasshoppers, ants and bees. The boys loved them but we girls stayed away. he he.
